NEW MEMBERS EVENT: THE HIGHWAYMEN TRIBUTE SHOW

"A tribute to the outlaws of country: Waylon, Willie, Cash and Kris"

The Highwaymen Tribute show has been 'on the road again' of late, playing to sell-out crowds in major cities and rural centres throughout Queensland, the Northern Territory and New South Wales and the 'full house' signs have gone up at concert and dinner shows alike.

Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson were already legends when they teamed up in the mid-eighties and took the world by storm with the Jimmy Webb penned number 'Highwayman'. Several tours followed and audiences worldwide flocked to witness a live show that evoked longings for the simplicity of a lost era, the 'old west'.

The Highwaymen Tribute Show is unique - it is the only genuine Highwaymen tribute in the Southern Hemisphere and does not compromise when it comes to content. The show has been winning new fans everywhere and audience members who saw the Highwaymen live during their tours of Australia and New Zealand in the nineties have been unanimously glowing in their praise as well, describing the Highwaymen Tribute as recapturing the true spirit and 'feel' of a Highwaymen concert.

The Highwaymen Tribute Show was a year in pre-production and includes a host of Highwaymen favourites like Silver Stallion, Desperadoes Waiting for a Train and Live Forever, along with songs from it's four legendary members: Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. Show members Dail Platz (Cash and Nelson), Paul Mostyn (Jennings) and Brent Lillie (Kristofferson) have been wowing audiences with a repetoire that also includes over forty great songs like 'City of New Orleans', 'Boy Named Sue', 'Ghost Riders in the Sky' and 'Me and Bobby McGee'.

'To be a Highwayman', an original song penned by the Highwaymen Tribute show members (Lillie and Mostyn have won numerous national and international songwriting awards) will be recorded this year. This 'tribute within a tribute' demonstrates why the show has been enjoying such outstanding success - each and every show member truly respects and admires the Highwaymen and their music. Or, as one fan put it: 'Listen to the original and then compare. Everyone involved has worked very hard to get the tempo and the phrasing down correctly. OUTSTANDING JOB. THAT ONLY COMES OUT OF THE LOVE YOU HAVE FOR THE GROUP AND THE SONGS'.
